Overview Works under the supervision of the Manager of Nutrition Services.
Assists the department in the clerical aspects of preparation for patient meal services through accurate menu processing and assisting with menu selections.
Assist in the food tray make-up area by starting, assembling and/or checking and loading completed patient food trays.
Clean and stock assembly area with appropriate food and supplies.
Acknowledge customers and respond quickly to their needs.
This position is also responsible for cashier duties, to include customer service, using a cash register and POS system, taking money and making change.
Responsible for following hospital policy and procedures designed to promote patient safety and reduce health care related injuries.
Follows guidelines for proper body mechanics, hazardous handling and standard precautions to avoid personal accidents and injuries.
What you will do Demonstrates flexibility and reliability when meeting the needs of the customer.
Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with patients and patient families so that patients and their families receive a positive experience.
Participates in FOSS (Focus on Service Spirity) and CARES (Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Enthusiasm and Service) behaviors.
Delivers patient trays to nursing units within established time limits so there will be minimal temperature loss and patients will be fed at required times.
Stock put away and rotated (to ensure FIFO) in a timely manner without any stock being left out or kept beyond expiration.
Assists patients with telephone call backs or personal visitation as needed while ensuring adherence to all diet orders.
Receives phone calls or faxes for food requests.
Demonstrates the ability to use time effectively and during periods of heavy workload, is able to aid other workers in the completion of their work.
Demonstrates the ability in assist in maintaining food cost through accuracy of recording patient meal orders and tray delivery.
Qualifications Education , High school or equivalent (Preferred) Experience 1-3 years Restaurant or Hospital Waiter/Waitress experience (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Food Handlers Card (FH) - State Food Safety (Required) Servesafe Certification - National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (Preferred) As a Riverside Health System team member, our benefits have you covered:
